Café Philo meets every Wednesday from 10:15 to 11:45 am. The Café does not serve dessert, but rather will meet weekly to talk about world, national, and local issues. The participants will learn from each other by sharing information and insightful discussion. The group decides the topic to be discussed each week.
Topics for the next meetings:

Wednesday, November 20: Is nationalism necessary in a globalized world?
Wednesday, November 27: Technological progress is founded on an educated population that has some idea of the value of scientific thinking. Our population does not understand scientific thinking. What options do we have?
Topics which may be discussed in the future include:
Who writes history and who revises/spins it?
Do truth and sanity always prevail, even when many media channels are overtly biased?
Does history repeat? What patterns have you seen repeated in your lifetime, and how does this affect your outlook or decision making?
How has literacy changed in the digital age? Do you write letters or are you texting? How are members of the next generation documenting their lives (or not)?
What is the role of belief in society?
Cash and credit are inconvenient. What is a better way of transmitting value?
